Milstones' Vocabulary 2


Vocabulary Words
Please complete 2 activities from the vocabulary choice board.
 
Be ready for a matching test on Friday!
The test will consist of examples instead of
1.     Antonym- a word with opposite meaning.
2.     Synonym- a word having the same or almost the same meaning.
3.     Homophone- words that sound the same but have different meanings and spellings.
4.     Prefixes- a letter or group of letters that come at the beginning of a word.
5.     Suffixes- a letter or group of letters that come at the end of a word.
6.     Root Words- the part of a word that can stand on its own after the prefix or suffix has been removed.
7.     Adjectives- a word that describes a noun.
8.     Point of View- a way of looking at or thinking about something.
9.     Transition Words- words that help move throughout a story from one subject to another.
10.                        Contractions- a shortening of a word or word group by leaving out letters and adding an apostrophe.
